Q: What is Sales Planning Manager Job? What is Sales Planning?
I accepted a job as Sales Planning Manager for consumer procust company selling Detergant. Can you tell me what should I do as I am new to this job.

A: I'm going to come from a more cynical angle. How did you come about applying for this job if you dont know what it is? How on earth have you come about being offered this job? I think you are perhaps buying into a pyramid (or similair) sales role where you are not paid a salary and will earn by selling 'detergent'. Simply put the role sounds like selling, and hard sell it will be. However no-one on here can really tell you, thats the job of the 'employer' so might i suggest you contact them for a job title including areas of responsibility and your role and function. And of course pay and conditions!

Q: Why are there so many insurance sales jobs?
I was a sales manager for 5 years and am currently trying to find new opportunities but everything seems to be a freakin' insurances sales person??? Why are there so many of them....and the recruiters for the sales people are like hungry dogs! It's unreal!

A: Hi Cam, The insurance industry offers a commission based job, the turn over rate is astronomical. There will always be a open door swinging both ways. Have you thought of starting your own business? There are many opportunities available to you. Read my profile, I have over 35 years experience.

Q: How to be a great sales manager?
especially when doesn't have the relevant experience. So how does one do a great job as a sales manager for a start-up company? What is the key for success for a beginner? Thank you for the advice. BTW, I don't really have a team to lead yet. I'll be on my own. I've to do everything on my own from scratch and seriously kinda overwhelmed. Job will start in 1 month but I want to be prepared and do a real good job. I have 6 months probation and don't wanna disappoint the company. Please help. :)

A: Treat your employees with respect. Don't act like just because you have the title that they are below you. Treat them as if they work WITH you not FOR you! Remember they are the ones making the sales, you are just the numbers guy. They have to feel like part of the team, not part of a tyranny. Don't be friends outside of work with any staff. This will keep you in a position of authority without being a cocky slime ball. Know when you are getting taken advantage of and lay down the law, right away. Unfortunately it happens when you try to be flexible:o(

Q: What salary might I expect for a Divisional Sales Manager at Staples?
I am thinking about applying for a job at Staples. The position of the job is called "Divisional Sales Manager". I do not want to waste time applying and finding out through the interview process that the pay is too low. I checked Salary.com but there was nothing there in regards to the position I am enquiring about. I am located in Manitoba, Canada. Hm, two conflicting answers. Anyone else??

A: I'm playing poker with a Staples Store Manager tomorrow night. If you haven't received a better answer by then, remind me and I'll see if I can find out for you. Of course, i am in Maryland, US, so the pay scale may be quite different.

A: How good is your English? That's probably the biggest thing. Sales jobs abound, really. Every company needs sales people. But sales is all about communicating and working with people. You need to be able to speak to people clearly, effectively, and get your point across relatively fast. People buy you, they dont really buy a product. If you communicate really well, you will be able to sell.

Q: Does anyone know of any sales jobs in San Antonio? I would love to send you a fabulous resume...?
I am an enthusiastic SALES FANATIC! I have relocated to the San Antonio Market to be closer to BAMC and my brother-in-law who has been injured pretty badly while serving in Iraq. I need a position with a decent base salary. I have had experiences in the past that prevent me from accepting a commission-only position. I am in no way in doubt of my sales ability, but unfortunately, some companies give all others on a commission-only pay scale a bad reputation. If you are a sales manager or owner of a company needing to drive your sales volume, I am your candidate. Trust me, you would love to speak to me. "Get them to sign on the line which is dotted..."

A: Try Property manangment. The job is ALL sales, you start of as a leasing agent with a descent salary and then you get comissioned on what you lease. Try Udrt.com this is a company I worked for previously and they are a great company.. Good luck to you..

Q: Where to go after being a sales manager?
My brother has been a sales manager for a large retail chain, selling electronics and large appliances for 4 years. Prior to that he was a sales manager for Circuit City for 3 years. He has decided he is DONE with retail. He is looking for a job with better hours. He does not have a college degree and cannot get one with his current scedule, but is willing to go back to school if he can get his hours down to around 40 with consistant days off. He's very smart and has done a great job for his employer, the only problem is the hours. What kind of jobs are available for someone with lots of experience with technology, sales and management but with no degree to back it up. The pay has to be atleast 40K and that would be taking a 10 to 15K pay cut for him.] Can anyone make any suggestions for a career move? You obviosly didn't understand the question. I know what's next if he stays with his current employer, but he wants out of retail!

A: Marketing Communications is a normal transition.
