Outside Sales Jobs questions and answers
Have you seen michigan career builderat the job website Employment 4U.
Q: What is some of the best outside sales jobs out there?
A: Kirby Vacuums they have been in business for 90 years. It is an American made product(in Cleveland OH) and if you are honest and ethical you can make a fortune
Q: When your in outside sales, and you have to do call backs is it best to leave a message or call back?
When you have a list of people you need to call back and some don't answer is it best to leave a message on there voice mail or call back and see if you can catch them. (this is for outside sales jobs)
A: You really need to gauge the situation and see if leaving messages is reasonable.
For instance, in my field of sales, many of my customers are on the run as much as I am. It is very often I have to leave them messages to return a call. A couple of them even prefer text messages! So just feel out the type of sale and type of customer to see what will work best.
Q: Any suggestions on where else to look for an Outside Sales Job?
I have been out of a job for six months now, and I have been told my resume is great but no one is offering me an interview?? I've hit every single job board imaginable and spoken to several Recruiters but nothing is coming about.. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm about desperate!
A: If you have tried the major websites like Monster and CareerBuilder, you may also want to look on Craigslist. After that, I'd check the local papers.
If you still haven't found anything, try hitting up the companies you are interested in working for. Many times you will find the best jobs are never advertised in the papers. You have to take the initiative and seek out the position you want.
Q: How can I self motivate myself for my outside sales job when It seems so difficult to accomplish?
A: Sales does require a LOT of motivation. I went through the same rut when I sold manufactured houses. It's a long process, because buying a house is not an impulse buy. You have to keep up communications with prospective customers and find a way to bring more business in. What really helped me was a book by Zig Ziglar called Secrets of Closing the Sale. Zig Ziglar has got to be THE authority when it comes to sales. I hear his book See You At The Top is another inspiration for sales people. Most of his books are also available as audio books. It really motivated me listening to it in the car on the way to work.
Q: Any pharmaceutical sales reps out there? I'm coming from an outside sales job that allowed a lot of freedom.
I could do what i want throughout the day without being micro-managed and as long as I sold and kept my numbers up everything was ok. I'm wondering if pharma sales is like this at all or are you really making 10 calls on doctors a day? Also, do you have an office to go into every morning, or do you just head out to the field? Some info on this would be very helpful...and specific company info is even better! Thanks so much!!!
A: I suggest you stay where you are. From the tone of your question, it sounds to me like you are looking for an easy job that will take care of itself. Hate to say it, but pharma sales is not for you if you are not willing to work hard. Pharma Sales Reps who work hard and who are focused reap the rewards, lots of it. On the other hand, Pharma Sales Reps who wait for manna to fall from heaven fail and are eventually weeded out.
Pharma Sales is field sales, so we do not go into an office each morning. Our car is technically our office. Making 10 calls a day may be a requirement for some companies, but not for all. More important in pharma sales is the quality of the calls, not so much the quantity. Discipline, accountability and maturity are key to one's success. Good luck!
Q: Outside Sales Job?
What kind of outside sales jobs are recommended for a recent college graduate (with a biology degree) that is looking to gain experience in the pharmaceutical/medical equipment sales industry?
A: I would apply with a drug or medical supply company. You may not get outside sales right away, but that would be a great starting point.
Q: looking for a outside sales job in south florida any advice?
A: go on careerbuilder.com
Q: What does the job outside sales entitle?
is it commission based? what do you do
A: You will be required to prospect and present to new businesses to sell your company's products. You will not be an order taker, you will have to go out and get the business yourself. Many times you will have support with prospecting lists and the like.
Q: What is the best way avoid getting discouraged when my job is outside sales with tones of competition?
A: Pick your strengths. What is it about your product and company that makes them the one to use. Never talk bad about your competition. Walk into each account with a goal. The goal could be to set a next appointment could be to close the sale could be to find out what the customer needs, just set it and keep it in mind as you go through the call.
Last never take it personal. Sometimes what the competition has to offer fits better than what you have. Move on to the next guy where yours is the better fit.
Q: Why are there so many SALES jobs these days?
Im trying to find a decent, stable job, but these days all I ever see is SALES jobs that absolutely suck all over the internet. Insurance sales, healthcare, direct sales, outside sales, etc etc....what happened to the typical 9-5 office job, I want one of those!!
A: They all moved to India!!!
All the production jobs are going to China.
All the agriculture jobs are taken by illegal immigrants.
That only leaves Mcburgerflippers and sales people.

A: Ever thought about just having your own business and doing sales for yourself? I have a business opportunity that has a $49 start up fee. It is with a successful company and you will be your own boss and not have to work for someone else!!! Let me know1
Q: How do I go about getting a job in pharmaceutical sales? I have 3 years of outside sales experience & a degree
Should I get my CNPR? How can I get an interview? I have applied at every company and nothing. How can I set myself apart from the thousands of applicants these companies get every day? Any tips/suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks!
A: There are always adds on about all of the websites. Getting the interview is the tough part. It's a sales position, so sell yourself! Make sure to have a strongly-written resume and follow up, follow up, and follow up.
