I am a college student looking to do something that pays good for less then 20 hours a week that is flexible.
A: To answer your question, no. And even if you go to classes that you pay for, you'd probably have to work in an office or hospital for awhile, maybe a couple years, on THEIR schedule before you could work at home and set your own hours.

please don't tell me to get my record expunged I can't the judge says their are too many felonies for that. I got 5 in 6 months, all drug and check related. the checks were my boyfriends
A: We all make mistakes. I'm glad to see that you've turned things around. MT jobs do not background check. Most coding/billing jobs will not either unless you are working in house at hospital, they might. Your safest best is MT.

All i wanted to know is what education level is needed to get a job as a medical billing specialist in new york state. I mean the public hospitals in New york. The government funded ones. Like the Methodist Hospital in New York City
A: More than likely you'll need a medical billing specialist certificate. This is obtained after completing a medical billing program or medical billing courses from an accredited medical billing school online or on a college campus. I'm a CPC, and I currently work full-time. I am looking to partner with someone who already has a medical billing business that is homebased, or someone willing to hire me to work from home. A: Not many legit work at home jobs as it is, let alone, medical billing or coder :) Please be very cautious if someone contacts you and wants to partner up to pursue such an endeavor as no one really knows the motivation behind such as offer.

Q: Is there such jobs as medical billing and coding and can you work from home?
I am checking into a few online schools and Im worried that their claims maybe to good to be true. I like data entry and working from home would let me fit a second job in, but is it for real?

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.

Courses in medical coding offered at inexpensive county colleges are key to getting an opportunity unless the health care business is willing to train from the bottom up
