Q: Looking for medical assistant jobs in maryland?
I am a medical assistant graduate, but I can't seem to find a job right now. Is there any websites I can search for work? I'm not certified, but I will be soon.

A: Usually you can look on hospital websites and type in the job you are looking for. That is what I do, but I live in TN. I am sure Maryland does the same thing on their hospital websites.

Q: entry level medical assistant jobs in philadelphia?
I just got out of medical assisting school and I have never had a medical assistant job before I live in philadelphia does anyone have any ideas for locations that I should go to, to apply that might higher someone with no experience.

A: My friends that have been in the same position said they had the best results by going to each office in person. It sounds like a lot of work and it is. Take resumes with you and go to each office and ask to speak with the business manger. They may not have time for you but get the resume to them and schedule an appointment if you can. Even if they are not hiring, ask them if you can do an informational interview with them to find out about other jobs in the area. You will be amazed with the results if you apply yourself. you should have a job in a week if you really try this.

Q: Where is the best city for medical assistant jobs?
I have over 7 years experience and got stuck here in Herndon, VA. WHere is the best (well-paying) city for medical assistants? Thanks

A: California is the best place for Medical assistants. Especially hospitals here in the Silicon Valley. You make about... $20.00 an hour starting. Also... depending on what hospital you can make even more.

Q: What jobs would I qualify for as a medical assistant?
What jobs would I qualify for if I get certified as a medical assistant besides medical assistant? My brother's professor says I could qualify for nurse's aid also along with medical assistant. What else? What is the job demand for medical assistant? What does the class require? Does this skill transfer easily country to country (say I qualify in the US, will such qualifications be accepted in Europe?) or just within the US? Answer what questions you can best to your knowledge. I know these question are broad, but that is because I know little. The more information I know, the more defined and detailed further questions will be. I thank you for your assistance ahead of time. Thank you and have a nice day.

A: I've heard that there are not too many jobs for the MA (including medical biller and coder). If you would still like to enter a training program, please do so at a lesser expensive school such as the local community college (perhaps non-credit course) or county vo-tech school as opposed to private schools. And please stay away from online schools such as penn foster and stratford career as most employers don't find them to be reputable. Others have recommended on YA that the person skip the MA training and instead apply for admission to an LPN (licensed practical nurse) program albeit it is supposed to be quite rigorous in the coursework as well as clinicals. It is said thought that there are supposed to be a lot more job opportunities for the lpn (however, not nearly as much as the RN/registered nurse).

Q: Medical Assistant Jobs?
I am thinking about going to school to become a medical assistant. I have been in and out of crappy jobs for some time now and I'd like to do something that would at least give me some job stability. Is this profession a decent one? I'm not looking to be rich, just content and steadily employed. Would someone tell me some information about the in's and out's of medical assistants. Thanks for your answers.

A: This field will more likely than not be difficult to find employment in. Some in the field will tell you differently, but they either live in a region of the country where MA's are needed, or received steady employment before the job market was flooded with MA's. The schools make it sound like there are endless opportunities, but they fail to mention that there are way more graduates from these programs than there are openings. Where I work as a CNA (certified nursing assistant), CNA's make as much as medical assistants (12/hr.) I paid $375 for my certification which included the $100 state exam fee and the $100 book, plus a class that I thought was lots of fun. The place down the street charged 600, so shop around if you choose this route. When I was done with the 6 week class and clinical rotation, employers were begging for me to come work for them. The medical assistants on the other hand paid $20,000 for their education, had to pay extra for books and testing fees, and had trouble finding a medical assisting job. There are fewer openings for MA's, and more people competing for the same job. The only benefit of being a MA is that they get to do more things and have more responsibility than a CNA. I take vitals, chart, move patients, feed them, bathe them, take them to the bathroom. Medical assistants get to do a lot more than that and it is not as dirty of a job.

Q: Medical Assistant Jobs in Georgia?
I just finished my courses in medical assisting in NYC and i am about to receive my degree. I haven't gone for my certification test yet. I was told that I have to be certified for phlebetomy, ECG and then medical assisting. Is that true? Or can i just take the medical assisting state exam? How much is it to take the test and what book can I use to study for the test? Is it easy to get a job as a medical assistant in austell, marietta, smyrna and atlanta areas in georgia? What can I do to find a job quick when i move to georgia? Om scared of drawing blood. What kind of medical offices i can work for that hires medical assistant that don't draw blood? What offices can i work for where the nurses are the only people responsible for drawing blood in georgia? My friend has 2 years medical assisting experience in NYC and she is moving to Georgia with me. How much can she ask for at a new job in georgia? 10 points to the best answer. Thanks

A: I think I have answered one of your questions before about medical assistants in GA. I am a CMA in North GA. I draw blood, do EKGs and sometimes vital signs. I am working as a Unit Secretary with clinical duties at a hospital. My first job was strictly clinical at a primary care office. You dont have to be certified in phlebotomy to draw blood. It was included in my training at school and I had to check off on it. I am a very good phlebotomist, but it didnt happen over night. I was so nervous when I first started, I went home and cried when I didnt get in the vein! Now I can almost hit any vein. Dont be afraid to do phlebotomy. Skill comes with time and practice. You dont have to be certified in EKGs either. The girl who trained me on my 1st job was only a high school grad with on the job experience only. She did just about everything there was in a back office, and front also. In the areas you are talking about, there should be plenty of jobs open for a medical assistant. I know you and your friend will be successful in your job search in the Atlanta area. Good luck to you!

Q: Is it possible to get a job as a Medical Assistant without and verifiable Medical Assistant Experience?
I have worked in the Vet Field doing similiar work as a human Medical Assistant has but I would rather work in a human hospital but I don't want to pay the money to go to school since I am under financial constraints. Is it possible to get a Medical Assistant job somewhere? I have a great job record and live in the Bay Area, California.

A: You do not need to go to school to become a medical assistant. There are a few physicians who will hire and provide on the job training, however the pay will be much lower. Your chances of getting a job as a medical assistant will be better if you do go to school to learn the skills.

Q: I am going to school to become a medical assistant?
I've looked in the classifieds and searched for local medical assistant jobs on the internet and theres nothing! I thought Medical Assistant jobs were in high demand? I start school in 2 weeks, but I am having second thoughts. The medical assistant program is 9 months long and cost $12,000. Any advice?

A: That is the BIGGEST scam! I work in the medical field and we are always getting these graduates begging for work, but they are basically useless to us. The classes teach you a little about everything but not a lot about anything. Don't waste your money!

Q: Is medical assistant jobs in Missouri in high demand?

A: My mom actually went to school for medical administrative assistant. She said it's not they they were not available, it was the hours, the locations, and the pay. She worked in in an office for Missouri Baptist hospital as a Patients account Coordinator making pretty good money but she wasn't actually in a hospital. it's really up to you to look around your area for something that meets your standards, like whether or not you want to work in an office building or an actual hospital. If you are close to West county I believe that there are a lot of medical assitant jobs out that way. Try Missouri Baptist Hospital.West County is probably about 45 minutes from St. Louis.
