Q: Fashion marketing/assistant jobs?
I am interested in getting started working for a magazine (assistant), something in marketing, etc etc....just very interested in style/fashion....all that comes with it. I have googled just about everything and haven't come up with many ideas of how to get started. I'm 22, looking to move to a bigger city, not for the job, but for the atmosphere, but I'm sure things like this are easier to find in a big city. I do not have a degree in anything to do with fashion...let me know if that is a must-have. Give me some ideas on how to get started please!...thanks!
A: definitely get a degree in fashion marketing, and something to do with graphic arts or journalism, depending on exactly what u want to do w/ the magazine company

Q: Help with jobs within marketing....?
I would love to do a marketing assistant job in the UK, but most of the jobs require you to have a web designing/maintainence qualification along with the usual criteria. I need some advice as to which would be a good course for me to do. Dreamweaver? or something like Illustrator or Photoshop? Also where can I do these from and is there any where I can get more information about whats the best course for me??
A: Dreamweaver is good, but of course so are the others you have listed. Taking an HTML course would be good also. Do you have any universities near by that perhaps offer 'non credited' extension classes? You really can't get too educated. Plus you never know where having that additional education might take you in the future.
Where to find more information on what would be the best courses? hmm. Can you call some companies and ask what they would require? Or perhaps, again, if you have any nearby colleges that teach marketing, ask them.

Q: What is a Personal Marketing Assistant?
what is the "published magazine" thing about?
Personal Marketing Assistant
Job Description: Must have customer service experience, (preferably from retail establishments, banks, or call centers). Must have excellent phone skills, be able to diffuse angry customers, and work under intense deadlines. Must have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Duties will include answering large volumes of e-mails, answering phones, and meeting deadlines for each published magazine. Typing speed: 30+ wpm preferred. This family oriented company is looking for candidates who are passionate about what they do and want to help the company grow. The company offers flexibility in schedules, benefits (full medical, dental, vision, and 401K).
A: I couldn't find a general description on wikipedia albeit not a professional research site, but the broad term 'marketing management' is explained: http://www.wikipedia.org and can search that term. I also looked on http://www.bls.gov/oco and searched 'marketing', 'advertising' or 'public relations', but it mainly talked about management positions like the aforementioned site albiet bls.gov is a reliable site.
The job sounds kind of like an administrative assistant with having to answer (probably multi-line) phones, computer database work, working under strict deadlines especially with publishing a magazine and dealing with customers. Being a 'family-oriented company' sounds like family members work there(?) and if that is the case and there is an employment issue, I don't know that management will take any sort of action if a problem should arise. Perhaps it just means that they hire those that are hard-working people, settled, married with kids(?)
Q: why are there so many marketing recuritment?
while other positions are rarely offered?
Marketing job seems very tough, has anyone experienced what the marketing assistant or officers usually do to make money?
A: marketing is always back bone of any business no sale no money. And nothing sell in today's market without good marketing plan & same time its very tough job because selling is not easy. Marketing start when customer say NO & if you sell your product showing him some marketing skill then u get one customer your 1st customer brings another 100 customer because customer is the best advertisement. So marketing is not everybodies baby so recruitment companies always look for people for marketing. There are two kind of peoples get success in marketing one who are very well qualified and another who are street smart ( 2nd catagorey people know how convince someone even if they are not techniqually strong). So there is always demand for marketing people. another reason there is huge employee turnover in this field.
Q: what does a Securities Marketing Assistant do (in a bank)?
What does a Securities Marketing Assistant do when they work in a bank? What does this job even mean?!
Thanks :)
and what qualities are needed for it?
A: Makes money for his employers by selling institutional products to the banks customers
Q: What are the responsibilities of a Marketing Assistant? ?
I have an interview tomorrow at a architectural and engineering firm tomorrow. The job is for something like an assistant with a bit more responsibility. What should I know for the interview?
A: Depends... generally speaking, a marketing assistant "helps" the other people in the marketing department. That could entail anything from coordinating events, like town meetings, tv production, trade shows, etc. to typing up and addressing envelops (marketing material). You might need to pull reports (these customers have this service, these customers don't) and most likely you'll need to spend time on the phone speaking with other coordinators (like marketing material production, website coordination, trade show planners, etc.) The skills that you need are good people skills, decent computer skills - typing, Microsoft office, word, excel, powerpoint, possibly access - need to probably know the internet, good organizational skills, and a generally pleasant disposition. It probably doesn't hurt to have a little creativity - like when you are looking at flyers, you can make suggestions like "I think this should be a brighter color, or this person doesn't look like the type of people we're trying to appeal to, etc." Also, with marketing people - image means alot - so dress in one of your best dresses or suits, even if it's dressier than you need to be. Best wishes !

A: Here's a personal story of how to break in. I didn't have a degree either at first and I wanted to get into the fashion industry as a buyer. I started off by getting a job as a sells clerk at the mall for a store named Jeans West by the Edison Brothers. The point of this is the Edison Brothers opened up many doors for me within the company promotion rise. So the best thing is to start at the bottom, as a sells clerk you'd be surprise how the vendor reps. listen to the sells reps and how they recommend and depend on your advise, who knows better what sells than a gifted sells persons. Also if I were you, I would place my resume on Yahoo.jobs for fashion merchandiser. Many companies will hire you as an entry level aassistantand let you prove your talent. Point in case, years later I ended up being a purchaser for another company. By the way if your interested in shoe merchandising, then check out Zappos.com, they are a GREAT company to work for and they want to work with people like your self who love fashion and want to grow and learn the bbiz
Q: Hi can anyone please tell me how much does Marketing Assistant make per hour? Thanks.?
I am applying for the Marketing Assistant position here at Monterey, California. It's going to be my first job interview here in the US and I just want to make sure that Im not asking too much if I were ask with my salary range.
A: Salaries depend on location, company & responsibilities. In the past, when someone has contacted me for an interview (usually the HR Dept) I ask right then and there what the salary range is- why waste my time or theirs going on an interview for a salary I wouldn't accept.
Good Luck!
