A: Have you tried to go to your doctor and have him certify you as disabled or a certain percentage of disability? If you can get that you can try to enroll in a program specifically run to train either disabled folks or disabled veterans who can only work with limitations. They match you up with what you can perform and train you. It is free of charge if you qualify. Think about talking to your doctor and explaining it's hard for you to find work because you can only do so much. Tell him that the jobs you are qualified for can risk further injury to your back. Ask him if they have a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program available in your area, or something similar to it.. I'm sorry I couldn't be of much help. Take care and don't give up, things will come your way! Here's the website for you to look over for more info on it.
Q: What should my salary be?? (Warehouse Purchasing Manager)?
I now work as the receptionist at a hog producer & Grain Purchasing office, I'm about to have the opportunity to advance to "warehouse manager" (someone is leaving) I have been trained the basics of this job so I could help out once in a while when the worker was sick or needed to be out for any reason. My duties will include but are not limited to: Purchasng supplies for Sow Farms (pigs) distributing the supplies, keeping up with meds, invoices, data entry for each farm. (We have 8 farms by the way) Purchasing office equipment, and making sure the office is always supplied with daily paper, pens, etc, supplies. I've looked it up, and seems the average makes about $12-$13 per hour, does anyone agree? help I don't want to get cheated out of whats rightfully mine!

Q: Is 5 years or more management experience in any field not good enough for getting a retail manager job?
i have minimum of 6 years experience as a manager in warehouse and construcion business, recently I applied for manager's position in all the leading drug stores in NewYork but all I got was negative answers.
note: (posted job requirement is only 1-2 years experience)
Can anyone tell me what could be the reason? Not to mention that I am 33 yrs old and a licensed pharmacist from overseas (not recognised here).
i forgot to mention that 6 years ago i had a supervisor position in retail for about 2 years.
A: I think it is plenty... But, your management experience is not in retail it is in construction and warehouse. you might ask one of them directly why you did not get the job and what you could do or improve on. Also ask them 1-2 years experience in what - I assume they will say retail management.
Good luck!
Oh yeah - there is also the possiblity that they may consider you over qualified. That happens a lot too...
Q: what gives corporate america?
I would love to know how to survive on 25k ? it seems my company thinks running an entire warehouse and showroom floor/handy man isnt worth more for one of the largest homegood stores in the country.
I know someone is going to say ,find a new job.I am currently looking but there isnt much out there if you dont know someone.
The other issue is, they posted an internal ad for a warehouse managers job at the hub for our district. I called both district managers and sent them my resume. Two weeks later i find out that they filled the positions, without even interviewing or atleast a phone call back. it atleast would have been nice to be told no you didnt get the job or atleast an interview.
sorry im kinda po'ed since this position payes in excess of 55k a year. I was even given a reccomendation from an old boss that works for the same company a few weeks prior.
How does one survive and support a family of three when corporate america has a strangle hold on you?
A: Do you feel better for having vented? As to "what gives," one answer is that you need to think of this job as a stepping-stone to the next one, and not a long-term, permanent position. As long as they can get someone to accept and hold the job at $25,000 (and that would not be so bad in some places, depending on the cost of living), they do not need to offer more.
One other factor you may not have noticed, since you are probably pretty young: nowadays entry level jobs are not paid on the assumption of one breadwinner in a family, but two. It's unfortunate, but that is the consequence of women entering the work force in large numbers during the 1960s and 1970s. When I was a child, men had jobs and women were housewives for the most part, and salaries were calculated on that assumption. But the so-called Women's Movement (which did as much harm as good, in my opinion) insisted that women should have the good jobs and be paid correspondingly higher wages, similar to a man. The outcome is that they not only raised the women's wages (relative to inflation, of course), but they also lowered the men's!
Q: What can a 55 year old man work with good background and experience?
My dad has been looking for a job for a long time now, he is 55 years old and has only had two other jobs in his life, he became the president and owner of a tobbaco dealership that he eventually sold when having 13 million dollars net a year. After that he became a warehouse manager for about 10 years until the compnay moved. What can he do special to get a good job now? By the way he has a major in accounting and a BS in business at a good college.
A: HE SHOULD KEEP HIS MIND BUSY, HE DOES NO'T NEED A JOB
Q: work from home jobs?
Hi. I have heard mixed reviews about 'work from home' or 'telecommuting' jobs. Some people swear by them and others say they don't exist. My issue is finding some good sites that want you to work from home and they don't want to charge you $200 to sign up to do it. It seems like each site charges a fee for you to get information about working from home. The fee they are charging does not guarantee a job, just information. Are there any out there that are legitimate jobs that don't charge you to work for them? I feel like I am wasting my experience. Jobs around here are hard to find right now. I was recently laid off and trying to help make ends meet. For the past 10 years I was a warehouse manager in charge of a department that ran 24/7. I can type 70wpm and I am not afraid of a challenge. so if anyone out there knows of any sites that would be good please let me know. Thanks so much for your help and have a great afternoon.
A: I work for Cloud10corp located at
www.cloud10corp.com
I get a biwkly paycheck by direct depost, had to show proof of citizenship, W-4, etc. and paid no fee to join.
They are hiring now, and if you are interested and apply, please let the interviewer know that Linda Reynolds referred you. I take inbound service calls that I was trained to take, with my computer...didn't need a landline, etc. Everything is set up through my PC (which did have to meet certain spec. listed on the site)
I work a steady shift which I chose to meet my convenience, 30 hours per week, and have support through a specific chat room to get help if there are questions I cannot answer. There are no benefits, other then referral bonuses at this time.
They are very nice to work for, and very helpful...pays are on time, and any announcements are through email or the employee portal (provided). There were no fees associated with this...I did have to purchase a usb headset for $30.
The work is pretty easy, there is paid training, and a period of "Nesting" where you get TONS of help and take only a few calls to help you get accustomed to taking calls...that is also paid. It's a great place to "work" no signup fee, nothing...this is legitimate.
Q: is it illegal to work on salary in a manufacturing job?
My boyfriend was told that it is illegal for him to keep the salary that he had in his last position, which was production manager, now he is warehouse manager and they want him to be on the clock again. Anyone heard of a law to this effect?
A: Many jobs are salaried instead of hourly.... Mostly jobs that require some sort of skill or upper Management tend to be salaried. It just depends on company policies.
If being paid hourly will give him a comparable wage then he shouldn't have a problem with it Another advantage to being hourly paid, if you work overtime he most likely will bet overtime pay and holiday pay. Some salaried jobs pay overtime but most don't. And never holiday pay.
It most likely has to do with company policy that warehouse manager has alwatys been hourly paid but the production manager salaried. But telling it was illegal is misleading, it's more like just company policy or if it's a Unionized company in the Union contract.
Q: Jobs in eastern North Carolina!!?
I currently work for a large swine operation in eastern NC. I'm not getting the pay that I deserve out of it. I am the Purchasing/Warehouse manager for the entire business and I'm not making jack-sh**! I love the job, but that fact makes me bitter about it. Don't worry, I have asked for a raise and I keep getting the run around! I want to move on but I don't know of any other agricultural feilds to contact or maybe even some possible purchsing/warehousing position around right now in eastern NC. I just know that I am capable of having a real career and would make some employer really happy if I could just find one to work with. I have also been posting my resume on all kinds of websites. So if anyone knows anything about anything please pass it along. I'm tired of working for nothing!!! But isn't that everyone's story? thanks!
A: Eastern NC is economically restrained compared to the big cities of the Piedmont. Consider moving to one of the boom cities like Raleigh, Durham, or Charlotte. Better pay in those areas.
Q: What should I get for my uncle for $20 or less?
What should I get my uncle for Christmas? He is a great uncle that got me a job at the warehouse he is a manager at. Im actually quitting the job though so that I can go to my school full time. He is about 55-60 years old.
A gift card/certificate will be my last option. I want it to seem like I put a lot of thought into it.
A: An indoor, outdoor weather station, sold at Walmart for about that price. We love ours. Shows the outdoor and indoor temp. the highest and lowest of the day, the correct time, which gets a signal from the national clock. It's a really nice gift for that price.
Q: What are Warehouse Call managers?
Its for a job interview.
A: Job titles (and their meanings) vary by company. If you want specific information, the only reliable source is that particular company. Try looking at their website. If you want general information, try going to careers.msn.com. Good luck!
Q: I need help creating my Job Title on Monster.Com due to the various experiences I have had in life.?
In my life I have had various careers from working as an assistant park manager for a family fun park, technical manager for Gateway Computers, senior level support technician for Compaq , manager for a cell phone store, and the system administrator/warehouse manager for my parents furniture business. So I am having a tough time putting together a job title. Can anyone please be of assistance?
Thanks!!!
A: Looks like management is your most common thread. If you'd like to be more specific, how about something like:
-- Technical manager
-- Services manager
-- Process manager
or a combo (which may lead to more opportunity):
-- Technical / Services Manager
-- Administrator / Technical Manager
Good luck!!
