Q: What is the difference between risk management and loss control in the insurance industry?
When looking for a job in the insurance industry, which position would you chose as a safety professional?
A: As a safety professional - you want loss control.
Risk management is all about identifying the risks, and deciding how to manage them - whether avoiding them, trying to transfer the risk to a business associate or insurance company, or assuming the risk.
Loss control is the whole safety thing - that is, you already have the exposure, you just need to try to minimize potential losses. Loss control is more "hands on" than the risk management, IMO.

Q: Finance Degree- financial risk management?
Ive almost finshed my two degrees one is international trade the other is Financial risk management....
So with international trade i know the jobs i could apply for but with financial risk management i dont know...is it possible to get an accounting job with a finance degree?
A: I will try to structure your question a little - you will finish undergraduate school with two degrees? One degree in financial risk management? And a 2nd degree in international trade? These are degrees, not majors? And you also want to know about accounting?
Without understanding much about your school or goals, here is what I suggest: the financial risk management course work fits with many agencies and private sector non-profits, e.g. the Ford Foundation in NYC, the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC, and a host of foundations in Washington and California. Financial risk-management is in great demand because of the troubles on Wall St.
International Trade represents an excellent entre to places like the Import-Export Bank, Washington, and the U.S. House of Representatives. The issue of exporting jobs to Asia will be front and center in the next four years. Britian's PM said this week that he hopes America will not put up protectionist trade barriers, etc.
Returning to your question about an "accounting job," you needed to make that decision early in your undergraduate years. Or you will need to do a Masters in Accounting at a recognized school. However, I don't see you going into accounting with all your finance classwork.
I have answered your questions without knowing anything about you.
Q: can i get a good job in india or abroad if i do MBA - risk management?
dear sir \ma`am .can i get a good job in india or abroad if i do MBA - risk management ?.does it has finance \ maths as its subjects.?
what kind of companies hire a person with MBA risk management .? does a person with such qualification will have good future .?does this qualification has good future?..
A: Yes indeed. Risk Management is now being given importance by Financial Institutions and Banks. RBI is very stringent on Risk Management. Each and every Bank and Financial Institute must keep theri asset portfolio in healthy condition. Simply doing Risk Management for job purpose will not serve. MBA with Legal Qualification will be best combination.
GOOD LUCK

Q: Which exam is better for me? Actuary? Treasury? Risk Management or Statistical?
There are lots of professional exams to take nowadays, but I'm not sure which one will fit me the best. Hope people who are in these professions can give me advice. I am an Economics, 2.2 (just 1 mark below the 2.1 boundary) graduate with 1.5 years working experience in a data input/administrative role in banks, plus 0.5 year in data research/reporting role in a security firm. I want to develop my career in financial services/insurance/accounting/ banking industry. I enjoy doing calculations, data analysis and reporting. I am a fast learner and inquisitive with a logical mind. I also like to investigate into things when necessary and would like a job that may affect some management decision to a better degree with my knowledge and intelligence. I really want to do an exam that will lead me to a career I'll enjoy to do in the future. I'm good at mathematics and ratio/company analysis in accounting.
A: Have you thought about doing an aptitude test? Ask your HR department if they can arrange one for you. I am sure, if you tell them you want to advance your career prospects, they will be delighted to help
