My last job was at NIH coordinating panel review meetings, and that was a year ago.
A: Try applying for jobs directly with pharmaceutical companies, if you like research. Glaxo, Quintiles, PPD, Astra-Zeneca are some good companies to work for.
I've encountered very few good recruiters out there--I've had better luck applying directly to the companies.

Q: is it possible to find an administrative or clerical job in usa without social security number?
i know it is not possible to find legally but there must be some companies which pay in cash.
i have TD visa and my husband has TN. I am moving to USA from Canada. LEgally I can not work there but if I want to get a little bit decent job where can i get.
A: If you can find a company that wants to hire you, they may sponsor you for a work visa, which will lead to a SSN, but otherwise do not expect to get any job legally, much less a professional one, without a Green Card and SSN.
Q: How can I get clerical/administrative work with little experience?
I am looking for some clerical/administrative work. I have no general office experience, but I do possess basic knowledge of MS Word & Excel. I like working with computers & organizing things. Where & how can I start this job search?
A: A good way to get a foot in the door is through a staffing agency. Most of them (Kelly services, Aerotek, ManPower, etc, etc) will give a typing test to determine your typing ability. Others have tests that check your skills with Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Temping is a great way to get started. Many places will hire temps in order to "test drive" administrative assistants before hiring full time. If the place you go to likes you, expect a full-time offer.
(Oh, and if the Temp aganecy doesn't work, try a shorter skirt and a lower bust line.) JOKING!
