Q: Administration jobs?
I have been working as an administration assistant for my local council for the last 5 years. I now want to further my career in administration by possibly further studies and taking appropriate exams etc. I am also prepared to change my employer in order to advance my career in administration. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

A: 'Administration' covers a variety of disciplines. What side of the role do you enjoy most?

Q: How do I find online health administration jobs that will allow me to work from home?
Soon I'll have a degree in health administration and I was wondering how to go about finding work online. I don't have a car and I live out in the country so online employment would be ideal for me. I don't want to do any surveys or sell gadgets out of my home or give "parties". I've heard of health care positions that people can work from home. If you know of anything credible please respond to this question. Thank you.

A: A site I found helpful is http://www.workathomedesk.com - It is a free site that has a good directory of companies that hire telecommuters. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for! Remember to never pay to get a job or any type of fee upfront. Good luck!

Q: What are some of the best Business Administration Jobs out there today?
I have a degree in Business Administration and trying to figure out how I can get started.

A: job search for entry level college grad / fresh out positions. business administration is really about how a business operates so you will have lots of options / choices you may make in your career. maybe google search for staffing / employement search firms in the area you wish to work. they can get you set up with job interviews give you some career coaching. be careful , to interview the company and be sure you have the right feel. head hunters get paid if you take the position so they will try to sell you any of them. good luck in your search. choose carefully !

Q: My husband is considering changing careers-what education is needed for computer network administration jobs?
My husband has both a bachelors and a master in music education and has 8 years experience as a band director. He's considering changing careers and wants to work with computers. He's very knowledgable about computers and troubleshooting. He thinks he would like to work as a network administrator, but other computer-type jobs might be considered. What kind of qualifications would he need (mind you he has no experience, so education type of qualifications)? And what kind of salaries are normal for a job like this?

A: I have two sons in this field. They are highly experienced and both have 2 year degrees in the field. They are not well paid but really enjoy their work. They both say that experience counts for more than degrees in this field, but I'm thinking that for him to get started in the field, he should have at least a 2 year degree and as many certifications as he can get. If he takes some classes in this field, he will hear about the certification tests and when and where he can take them. They are sometimes expensive, but his teachers should be able to guide him toward the most important ones.

Q: What are some interesting Nursing and health care Administration jobs?
When i refer to interesting i mean, you do much more then just writing mundane policies, team buliding and things of that boring nature. Thanks!

A: For nursing, military nursing would be very interesting. Also travel nursing. But remember, after a while, must jobs will become routine.

Q: Are there any Administration jobs available in Hertford, Hertfordshire?
I have recently finished a BTEC in Secretarial, Administration and Business. Therefore, I am in the process of trying to find employment within an Office or Administration enviornment in Hertford. It is very hard to find vacancies...I have tried Reed, Blue Arrow and they dont seem to actually want to help me! I need to find a job as soon as possible, because I have bills to pay! Any advice or help or vacancies you know of would be gratefully recieved!! Thankyou!!

A: Employment aganeies are, in my opinion, a waste of space. Recruitment Consultants are technically sales people who do not care about finding employment for their customers. They are far more interested in their own sales commission. My advice would be to scan your local paper(s) and concentrate on the JobCentre. You are far more likely to find the job you want that way - as you are the one who controls the type of jobs that you go for. Remember, that when you are completing the Personal Details section of the Application Form, relate your experience to what the employer has stated in the Person Specification (the document that lists the "Essential" and the "Desirable" qualifications/experience for the job). Use practical examples. Use the link below to find vacancies in your area. Best of luck!

Q: How would an Obama administration affect jobs in the insurance industry?
Obama's plan for national healthcare involves a lot of government involvement in people's personal lives. How will that affect the jobs of people who are agents or work for insurance companies?

A: ~~No his insurance plans are not for national insurance as everyone seems to think. He still believes in private insurance companies being used. Insurance brokers would still be needed.~~

Q: What jobs are available to a recent business administration graduate?
I recently graduated from a 4 year college with a bachelors degree in business administration / marketing. I recently began my job search and found almost every job that I would want requires years of experience. More specifically pharmaceutical sales. As for experience, I have worked tons of jobs during my education. Most were delt with audio / visual equipment, retail, or security. In other words I am kinda out of luck. I was wondering what other people have done upon graduation to gain experience. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A: Maybe you could apply for an internship.

Q: What jobs can you get with an Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration?
I just started college in September. I am going to school to get my Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration. I was just wondering what jobs I could get with it. Where would be the best place to get a job: hospital, doctor's office, etc.? Where would offer more security? Which would offer better benefits and pay?

A: I will be taking the bachelors program of that degree also, and the degree is supposed to be the administrator of the hospital but you have to have at least a Masters degree for that position I believe. But with an associate degree you can probably be a supervisor over a specific department in the hospital, clinic, etc. like admitting supervisor, medical records supervisor, medical billing supervisor, etc. Best security would probably be a hospital for pay and benefits. Hospital Administrative Assistant Hospital Business Office Manager Managed Care Negotiator Hospice Director Hospital Administrative Assistant Hospital Business Office Manager Hospital Contract Analyst Hospital Patient Admissions Manager Managed Care Negotiator Medical Group Manager Medicare Billing Specialist Nursing Home Administrator Patient Accounts Representative Public Health Analyst Respite Care Director Retirement Community Assistant Administrator Voluntary Health Agency Director Volunteer Services Coordinator

Q: Business Administration- what kind of office jobs can you get with this degree? How much do they pay usually?
After going through 2 years of Business Administration in college, is it possible to get an office job afterwards? And do you know of what kind of office jobs are out there for Bus. Admin. graduates? And what they usually pay?

A: 2 years? Well u really need a Ba for a high paying job! If u want a high paying job in Business administration go for accounting, finance or consulting. You will have to complete at least 5 years in school to become a CPA but after u pass the 2 day accountancy exam u should have no problem starting at 50k plus bonus! If you manage to make it into one of the Big 4 accounting firms the sky is the limit! A big 4 partner can make over 500k with some hard work! U need at least 12 years of accounting experience! If you are talking about an AA in business a 2 year degree u are really limited! U could b a bookeeper for like 13 buxx an hour or a secretary for around the same!

Q: what is the difference between "clerical" and "administration" jobs ?

A: The two terms are in essence interchangable and are sometimes used to describe the same role it depends a lot on the company. Clerical tends to refer to a job that is more entry level in which you are answering the phone, typing, filing, and doing basic functions with a lot of supervision. Whereas administrative can mean that the job is a bit more senior where you may have your own area of supervision to ensure a task gets done and requires less supervision. The key is understanding the role profile and what is required in the job.

Q: What kind of jobs can I get with a Phd in Healthcare Administration?
I am considering a Phd degree in Healthcare Administration but I do not know what types of jobs this will bring me. Currently I work in the pharmaceutical industry and do not have any intentions of managing a hosptial. I do enjoy research work but also have no interest in teaching. Any feedback?

A: A doctorate degree may enable you to get a job in research though I just wanted to caution you Not to attend any of those 'online colleges' such as University of Phoenix, Strayer University, Devry U or Kaplan U as most employers don't see them as reputable schools. Jobs in research may be difficult to find and the person may at least need a master's degree, but please don't quote me on that ;) Here is a website that provides general info about various careers: US Occupational Outlook Handbook www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'healthcare administrator' or such. Good luck in your endeavors!
